The International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP) narrative exposure therapy method was designed by J. Eric Gentry, Ph.D., LMHC, a recognized leader and trainer of clinical traumatology.
This method stands out with its focus on productive pacing, by maintaining a "relaxed muscle body" and processing trauma in a way that is productive without becoming overwhelming. It's a deliberately paced approach which integrates trauma memories and helps to transform the sensory fragments of the experience into a sequenced narrative, pairing exposure with relaxation.
I was taught this method in the course of my training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Please feel free to call if you have any questions about this approach.
